[Facebook–Coach Carlesi] The Peglegs dropped another one today to HS for Construction 8-3. We were never really in this game. The pitcher kept us off balance and we did not adjust. This has been an ongoing problem the last 3 games.
Nothing went well for us today. Our pitching and bats failed us today. We are a lot better than our record but we need to start showing some baseball knowledge in the second half of our season. Our record is now 5-4.

[Facebook–Coach Nardiello] Our JV Peglegs hosted Randolph HS at PG2 in a game that felt like 3 mini-games (and all 3 were interesting). First we were up 7-0 and were all over them in the first few innings, paced by a Jonathan Lee home run & Ethan Kirschner’s dealing 9Ks over 3.1 IP. Then they began make plays, we stopped scoring, and starting walking them as they scored 6 in the 4th inning (to draw the score to 7-6). Ben Harwayne ultimately put the fire out, and we came back with a 9-run inning with Christopher Liu clearing the bases with a triple… and a walk-off Mercy win (as the rain came down on us). We came home with a ton of muddy everything, after scurrying in the rain to pack our gear, and a clean 16-6 win

[From Coach Nardiello]

On Opening Day today, our JV Peglegs destroyed rival George Washington HS, 14-3 and it was so lopsided that GW’s coach asked if we could end the game, early. Our attack included 9 hits and 9 BBs, led by Jonathan Lee 2-2, 2 R, 2 rbi, BB and Julian Singer 2-2 R, rbi, BB and Matt Melucci 2-3 2 R and Julian Cunningham 1-1, 3 R, RBI, 2 BB. We were sloppy in the field for starter Jordan Gray.. which led to 3 unearned runs, and GW staked to a 3-0 lead. But Jordan tossed a No-Hitter the rest of the way – and our defense solidified, particularly Ben Harwayne and Christopher Liu. Can you believe it? Stuyvesant crushed GW, and might have just won the Manh Div on Opening Day?
