Stuyvesant PEGLEGS Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-3 loss to HS of Construction on Thursday. HS of Construction scored on a double by Thomas and a triple by Yournet in the second inning.

HS of Construction got things started in the second inning when Thomas doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.

Caprio was the winning pitcher for HS of Construction. He lasted six and a third innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out five. Aybar threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Owen Potter took the loss for Stuyvesant . He went three innings, allowing seven runs on four hits and striking out four.

Max Mah, Paul Liou, Cooper Nissenbaum, Jared Asch, Malcolm Hubbell, and Potter each collected one hit to lead Stuyvesant. The Peglegs were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Luca Bielski made the most plays with 13.

HS of Construction racked up seven hits in the game. Thomas and Gomez each had multiple hits for HS of Construction. HS of Construction didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kelly had six chances in the field, the most on the team.

The Peglegs dropped their 3rd game yesterday 7-5. Cardozo is one of the best teams in the city and we came one hit away from beating them. Again, the big hit still eludes us. We left 11 men on base and again did not get an extra base hit.

Stuyvesant stayed in it until the end, but Benjamin Cardozo pulled away late in a 7-5 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at five with Cardozo batting in the top of the seventh when Pena homered on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Stuyvesant lost despite out-hitting Cardozo ten to eight.

In the first inning, Cardozo got their offense started. Angeles singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

The Peglegs knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the sixth inning. Stuyvesant scored two runs when Malcolm Hubbell doubled.

Hart toed the rubber forCardozo. He allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine.

Jared Asch was on the hill for Stuyvesant . He surrendered five runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Jeremy Rubin and Matthew Deutsch entered the game as relief, throwing one inning each.

Stuyvesant ad ten hits in the game. Rubin, Hubbell, Asch, and Franklin Liou each racked up multiple hits.

Benjamin Cardozo racked up eight hits in the game. Angeles, Peguero, Zavala, and Pena each had multiple hits.

In the first inning, Bayside got their offense started when Cabrera tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Stuyvesant tallied three runs in the seventh inning. Pegleg batters contributing to the big inning included Max Mah and Malcolm Hubbell, all driving in runs in the inning.

Bayside scored four runs in the seventh inning. Winter and Bhola powered the big inning with RBIs.

Decastro led things off on the mound for Bayside. He surrendered two runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out four.

Hubbell was on the mound for Stuyvesant PEGLEGS Varsity. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out two. Matthew Deutsch threw three innings out of the bullpen.

Hubbell went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Stuyvesant PEGLEGS Varsity in hits.

Flug led Bayside with two hits in four at bats. Bayside was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Cabrera had the most chances in the field with six.

Today the Peglegs played their best game of the season with a 12-2 win over John Adams HS. Owen Potter threw a complete game 4 hitter. Multiple hits by many and good around baseball played by many.

Stuyvesant put up five runs in the seventh inning. Pegleg batters contributing to the big inning included Max Mah, Malcolm Hubbell, Rubin, and Jared Asch, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Espinal-Rodgruez was on the pitcher’s mound for John Adams. He surrendered five runs on seven hits over four and a third innings, striking out one. Martinez and Contreras entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Stuyvesant saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Hubbell, Rubin, Asch, Luca Bielski, and Mah each had multiple hits for Stuyvesant PEGLEGS Varsity. Hubbell led Stuyvesant with three hits in five at bats.

Martinez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead John Adams in hits.

Congrats to the Peglegs on their win over Francis Lewis HS 5-4. The Peglegs are now 4-1 in division play. The action continues tomorrow against John Adams HS in Queens.
The boys never let up in this one with good pitching from Jared Asch and closed out by Malcolm Hubbell. Jared also had 3 hits on the day and so did Max Mah. Jeremy Rubin came up big with some key hits and a great play at 3rd.

Stuyvesant PEGLEGS Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Francis Lewis high school on Monday. The game was tied at four with Stuyvesant batting in the top of the seventh when Jeremy Rubin drew a walk, scoring one run.

Stuyvesant got on the board in the first inning when Jared Asch singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Asch led things off on the hill for Stuyvesant. He surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Jefremow was on the mound for Francis Lewis. He lasted six innings, allowing ten hits and four runs while striking out two. Mak and Ramnarayan entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Stuyvesant collected ten hits on the day. Rubin, Asch, and Max Mah all managed multiple hits. Stuyvesant tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Sam Levine led the way with two.

On Opening Day today, our JV Peglegs destroyed rival George Washington HS, 14-3 and it was so lopsided that GW’s coach asked if we could end the game, early. Our attack included 9 hits and 9 BBs, led by Jonathan Lee 2-2, 2 R, 2 rbi, BB and Julian Singer 2-2 R, rbi, BB and Matt Melucci 2-3 2 R and Julian Cunningham 1-1, 3 R, RBI, 2 BB. We were sloppy in the field for starter Jordan Gray.. which led to 3 unearned runs, and GW staked to a 3-0 lead. But Jordan tossed a No-Hitter the rest of the way – and our defense solidified, particularly Ben Harwayne and Christopher Liu. Can you believe it? Stuyvesant crushed GW, and might have just won the Manh Div on Opening Day?

The Peglegs are now 3-0 in league play with another win today against West 50 Street Campus. The final score was 7-4. Great pitching by Jared Asch and timely hitting by Daniel Kim with a 3 run triple. Matthew Deutsch came in to get the save.
This was a nail biter but in the end the Peglegs did not fold under pressure. Congrats boys.

Stuyvesant had all cylinders firing on offense on Wednesday, winning big over Norman Thomas 14-1. The Peglegs got things started in the first inning. Jeremy Rubin drew a walk, scoring one run.
They put up five runs in the third inning. Stuyvesant’s offense in the inning was led by Owen Potter, Jared Asch, and Cooper Nissenbaum, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Malcolm Hubbell toed the rubber for Stuyvesant. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out six.
