Dear Parents and Players,

Hope your summer is going well. I know it’s early August, but it is time to get ready for the 2016/2017 baseball season. Please have your medical and consent forms completed by September 14th . We will have a fall tryout season starting on or about September 19th through October 28th for the Varsity and JV tryouts. The medical form must be completely filled out with parent’s signature, doctor’s stamp, date of medical and the doctor’s license number and signature. Without this information you cannot participate. If you are playing a fall sport your medical is good for baseball, but you will need a new consent form.

There will be a meeting for all players during the first week of school, a parents meeting will be announced when school begins. In the mean time please stay in baseball shape, get to the cages and throw during the summer. You can reach either of us at chetta314@aol.com or bbcoach200@aol.com or cell # 646-236-2062.

Enjoy the rest of the summer!!!!

Sincerely,
Coach Carlesi
Coach Hahn
Coach Nardiello

Congratulations to the JV!

Congratulations to the Stuyvesant JV team for winning their division. The PSAL finally confirmed the forfeit against Beacon HS which gives the JV a 9-1 record. GW and Stuyvesant both have the same record but Stuyvesant beat GW three weeks ago which makes them the champions.
Great job guys and coach Joe!!!

Seniors

Yesterday we said goodbye to our senior at our annual awards luncheon and V&T’s restaurant on the upper west side. It was a good time had by all with a few tears shed, especially from me. We wish our seniors all the best when that start college in the Fall and to remember you will always have a place in your extended family at Stuyvesant.

Thank you for a great season to everyone.

2016 Alumni Stuyvesant Baseball Game

Dear Faithful Baseball Alumni,

It is with great disappointment that I must announce the cancellation of the 2016 Alumni Game that was set to be played Saturday, June 11, 2016. Because of low response to our invitation we do not have enough players to field a team.  I personally take responsibility for not getting the word out earlier in the year. This season was filled with ups and downs over the course of three months. Between the rainouts, change in fields, and injuries, I was just not able to keep up with everything and for that I apologize.

A separate email has been sent to give you a Stuy Baseball update. SAVE THE DATE FOR 2017-TENTATIVE: JUNE 10.

Best regards,

Coaches Carlesi and Hahn

We got this wonderful reply to our Alumni Game invite:

I am a 1958 graduate of SHS and was an outfielder on the 1957 and 1958 teams. I received your evite to the Alumni Game on June 11, but, unfortunately, had to decline; I live in Tucson, AZ. In my place, however, I have some recollections from the 1957 and 1958 SHS baseball seasons that I would be happy to pass on. In the meantime, here is a photo of me in my 1958 SHS (zippered shirt) uniform and a photo of me today in Tucson.

Best Regards – Ray Silverstein (#50)
