Three Stuyvesant Peglegs pitchers combined on a no-hitter against the overmatched John Adams Spartans. The final score was 7-0.
Paul Liou, Ethan Kirschner, and Ben Harwayne weren’t spectacular – allowing eleven walks to go high the no-hitter – but got the job done.
The Peglegs came out looking lethargic but perked up in the fourth inning and beyond. The Peglegs offense was led by Axel Riess’s three hits and two more from Adam Lucey. Timely hits by Liou and Kirschner gave them three and two RBI, respectfully.
Kirschner took the win for the Peglegs going three innings, walking four and striking out three. Liou started the game and went three innings, allowing no hits, walking four and striking out four. Ben Harwayne came in to close the book on the Spartans.
