Catcher Adrian Veto called a very smart game and it is clear this battery works quite well together.Offensively, the Peglegs only struck out 3 times and if not for some nifty defense by the Trojans, the score would have been even higher.Defensively, there were not that many chances for our boys but when the ball was put in play our Peglegs played error free baseball.Later in the season we will play the Trojans again but at their ballpark. We can be sure that the school that spawned HOF Rod Carew and Manny Ramirez not to mention dozens of college and Minor League players will have that game circled on their calendar. It’s already circled on ours.Game NotesMantas Kempinas went 7 innings, striking out fifteen while walking just one. He allowed just one hit.Adrian Veto, Lucas McGarvey, and Mantas Kempinas each contributed one hit.Adrian Veto and Lucas McGarvey each chalked up an RBI.The Peglegs stole 7 bases; Adrian Veto and Lucas McGarvey with two each, Charles Merkel, Christopher Louie, and Mantas Kempinas with one each. There were 4 walks for the Peglegs; Adrian Veto, Andrew Choi, Charles Merkel, Charlie Winer with one each.
