The Peglegs are now 3-0 in league play with another win today against West 50 Street Campus. The final score was 7-4. Great pitching by Jared Asch and timely hitting by Daniel Kim with a 3 run triple. Matthew Deutsch came in to get the save.
This was a nail biter but in the end the Peglegs did not fold under pressure. Congrats boys.

Jared Asch got the start for Stuyvesant. He lasted six innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out six.

The Peglegs had nine hits in the game. Jeremy Rubin and Cooper Nissenbaum each had multiple hits. Rubin led Stuyvesant with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.

Stuyvesant PEGLEGS Varsity Claims Victory Over Norman Thomas In Blow-Out Fashion, 14-1
Stuyvesant had all cylinders firing on offense on Wednesday, winning big over Norman Thomas 14-1. The Peglegs got things started in the first inning. Jeremy Rubin drew a walk, scoring one run.
They put up five runs in the third inning. Stuyvesant’s offense in the inning was led by Owen Potter, Jared Asch, and Cooper Nissenbaum, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Malcolm Hubbell toed the rubber for Stuyvesant. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out six.

Stuyvesant totaled 11 hits in the game. Potter, Asch, Nissenbaum, and Luca Bielski all managed multiple hits. Stuyvesant didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bielski had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.

Congrats to the Peglegs on their opening day win over Norman Thomas HS. Jared Asch and Jeremy Rubin combined for a 3 hit shutout. Jared also added 2 hits and the Peglegs walked 10 times and stole 10 bases. We return Wednesday to Pier 40 to faceoff against Norman Thomas again.

Two Pitchers Team Up As Stuyvesant PEGLEGS Varsity Defeats Norman Thomas In Shut-Out

Stuyvesant defeated Norman Thomas 10-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Stuyvesant secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. Rubin, Owen Potter, Jared Asch, and Daniel Kim each had RBIs in the frame.

In the first inning, the Peglegs got their offense started when Jared Asch singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Asch led things off on the mound for Stuyvesant. He lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out nine and walking zero. Asch led Stuyvesantwith two hits in four at bats. Stuyvesant tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Kim led the way with two. Stuyvesant was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Luca Bielski made the most plays with 13.

In our first preseason game, the JV had an upset in sight (up 3-1 in the 5th inning at Monroe; leading 3-2 in the 6th). But we lost command of the strike-zone, late and surrendered 6 unanswered Rs mostly on walks. Overall, good effort on defense and on the mound — and maybe we let this one get away — but after this, our guys should feel like they can play with just about anyone. Final: 7-3 loss

Shout it from the rooftops..! Your Peglegs are the Manhattan champions.. after stunning GW at Pier 40 by a 6-3 score. Ben Zenker pitched a CG with 7Ks and had a double, single and 2 rbi’s. Max Mah sparked our offense again scoring 2 runs. Julian Singer had 2 hits including crushing a 2 rbi double. Jordan Gray (rbi, run), Luca Bielski, Julian Cunningham and Elias Bernstein (run) all came through with singles when we needed them. Great team win. Great team.

Stuyvesant Peglegs JV wins contest against George Washington HS, 6-3. Stuyvesant fired up the offense in the first inning, when Ben Zenker singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
The Peglegs scored five runs in the second inning. Stuyvesant’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Jordan Gray and Julian Cunningham and doubles by Julian Singer and Zenker.
Zenker led the Stuyvesant Peglegs JV to victory on the hill. He went five innings, allowing three runs on one hit and striking out seven.
Ayendy took the loss for George Washington HS. He lasted two innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out four.
Stuyvesant racked up eight hits on the day. Singer and Zenker each had multiple hits. Zenker and Singer each collected two hits to lead the Peglegs.
Cesar went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead George Washington HS in hits. George Washington HS tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Justin led the way with two.

Luca Bielski was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound on Thursday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Stuyvesant Peglegs JV past Manhattan Center for Science & Math 20-1.
Stuyvesant Peglegs JV fired up the offense in the first inning, when Julian Singer singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Bielski pitched Stuyvesant Peglegs JV to victory. He lasted five innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out 13.
Joshua took the loss for Manhattan Center for Science & Math. He allowed four hits and 12 runs over two innings, striking out one.
Stuyvesant Peglegs JV smacked one home run on the day. Elias Bernstein put one out in the fourth inning.

Our Peglegs battled GW early and throughout this game.. down 3-2 and down 6-5 there was plenty of fight, and chances. Down 8-5 we loaded the bases with 0 outs… but just couldn’t cash in our opportunities. Then, the wheels fell off a bit, in a game wasn’t near as bad as the final score (14-5) shows. Pitching, Ben Zenker had 4Ks in 4IP but our defense let up, and made him work harder. Max Mah relieved and battled, but again.. we didn’t make the plays behind him, that would have kept this a far closer game. Luca Bielski had a solid game behind the plate, and was walked twice (Ben walked 3x). Max had 3 hits, to lead the offense. Jordan Gray singled and had 2 RBI. Masataka Mizuno, Julian Singer and Jude Rizzo singled. We had 8 BBs and plenty of chances for running up the score but, just didn’t get the big hits today.

Stuyvesant Peglegs JV Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Stuyvesant Peglegs JV fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-5 loss to George Washington HS on Wednesday. George Washington HS scored on a groundout by Julio in the first inning, a single by Cesar in the second inning, and a triple by Gerald in the second inning.
The Stuyvesant Peglegs JV struggled to contain the high-powered offense of George Washington HS, giving up 14 runs.
George Washington HS pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Cesar singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs and Gerald tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Stuyvesant Peglegs JV put up three runs in the fifth inning. Jordan Gray had an RBI single in the inning to lead the run scoring.
George Washington HS scored six runs in the sixth inning. George Washington HS big bats were led by Ayendy and Gerald, who all drove in runs.
Justin got the start for George Washington HS. He went four and a third innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out seven.
